03.07.2014 - 25.07.2014
On Thursday, July 3, Alfred, a Cooperative Institute for Arts and Culture, will open a double exhibition titled The Dust Bowl, displaying artworks by artists Sharon Musafi and Yael Goldberg.
Goldberg and Musafi, graduates of the Art Department of Minshar College, will be exhibiting a body of work consisting of installation, sculptures, paintings and videos.
Goldberg will present sculptures and an installation consisting of everyday objects of mass production in small dimensions, which she deconstructs and reconstructs into a sculptural fictional landscape.
Musafi will exhibit oil paintings on canvas and video art. The paintings focus on the silence, the vacuity and the hidden in constructed environments. In the video Musafi locates forms and repetitive movements and examines how they define the space.
The industrial urban spaces surrounding both artists were the source of inspiration and interest for the exhibition.
In this exhibition the artists chose to respond rather esoteric elements of the urban visual language.
